Bedding plants/Seedling trays/Plug trays

Multicellular trays offer an economical cultivation solution for vegetable, flower, and tobacco crops, through direct sowing or rooting. The use of cells provides complete control over growth, resulting in well-balanced plants with robust root systems that are quickly accepted. This approach saves substrate, surface, and time.

The system comprises a wide range of trays suitable for various crops, available in two sizes: 60 x 40 cm and 53 x 32 cm. They are made of different film thicknesses, allowing for varying prices. This diverse selection of trays allows manufacturers to choose the most appropriate option based on their plant species and preferences. VEFI trays have specially designed cell bottoms that prevent root twisting, while cut-out trays ensure proper drainage of excess water, even when placed on a flat surface rather than hanging on a rack. For more demanding plants, such as strawberries, new trays (PB-54 and PB-66) have been developed for use in the lower parts of the plant.

To reuse the trays, it is essential to wash and disinfect them. This can be achieved through evaporation in a chamber or hot water bath for a minimum of two hours at 70°C. However, polystyrene (PS) trays should not be heated above 70-75°C. Chemical disinfection is also a viable option.
