VEFIS HISTORIE
1949 Vestfold Formstoff Industry was established in Larvik (Nanset) by Hans Myhre and Gaarder. The first production line was a home made extruder made from a canon, and they produced hoses, belts and insulation hoses. This was the beginning for the miracle material plastic.
1950 The factory was moved from Nanset to Vollen (Tjølling).
1959 They started to look at vacuum forming/thermo forming.
1962 There are big interest for the products, and the first vacuum former was made by the company SmiMek in Sandefjord. The machine had to run on full capacity to keep up with the sale.
1963 The first strawberry containers was made.
1964 The marked explodes, they take over the marked for berry containers and sell 20 mill. containers.
1965 One way pots in plastic are made and develop the VEFI system with pots, trays and simple technical equipment.
1967 Norsk Hydra buys 65 % of the shares.
1985 The Møller Group (Møller Industrier) buys all shares in VEFI.
1986 VEFI merge with Hamax and new name is Hamax-VEFI AS fora short period.
1990 VEFI start sale in Poland.
2010-2012 Production is moved from Larvik to Skierniewice in Poland. VEFI takes over Agro-Plast and VEFI Europa is established. VEFI Norway office and stock are moved to Drammen.
2014 OBOYA Horticulture industries buy VEFI AS and VEFI Europa
2020 Pamica AB acquires VEFI AS – VEFI Europa
